Grad Corner

As our Grade 6 students’ journey through this final year with us, we plan to carry on the tradition of offering several activities and grad related items for the children. We have a wonderful group of volunteers this year who have offered their time to plan and organize these events.
What are we organizing this year?
- Fundraisers: Our three fundraisers are held to support grad events. Please support our activities and feel free to include friends and families in our fundraising events.
- Grad Sweatshirt: The winning design will be printed on a sweatshirt given to each student.
- Social activities: We will aim to organize three social activities. The first is online due to current restrictions. The second social activity will take place in the winter. These activities are held outside of school at an additional cost, usually under $25 per student.
- Yearbook: Our volunteers work hard each year to design and put together a memorable yearbook for each child. Yearbooks are provided at no cost to the children.
- Transition to high school workshop: A preparation and skill building program for grade 6 and 7 students, delivered through six in-class sessions. This activity-based program addresses transition anxiety, specific strategies for high school level study and test taking, and how to apply them for academic success.
- Red Cross Babysitting Course: Basic first aid and caregiver skills for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies.
- Graduation ceremony: We help set up/decorate and clean up the site. A photographer will be hired to capture the moment.
- Graduation Party: Finally, we set up a wonderful event for the children, complete with parting gifts and lasting memories.
